The presence of citizens in bathing suits in places not connected with water bodies may be regarded as a discrepancy between the appearance and the norms of public morality and may entail a fine or arrest. Lawyer Ilya Rusyaev spoke about this in a conversation with Lenta.ru.
The lawyer said that wearing a swimsuit in places not connected with water bodies, such as city parks, streets, playgrounds or public transport, can entail liability. He explained that demonstratively appearing in a swimsuit in such places, especially in the presence of children, will be regarded as a violation of public order.
“If appearing in a bathing suit in a public place is accompanied by a demonstrative violation of the norms of public behavior, for example, aggressive or provocative behavior, foul language, or harassment of others, the actions may be classified as petty hooliganism,” Rusyaev warned.
The expert pointed out that in such a case the offence would entail a fine of 500 to 1,000 roubles. In addition, for petty hooliganism a 15-day arrest is envisaged, he added.
Earlier, Russians were warned about the risk of going to jail for picking berries from the Red Book or those that grow in protected areas. When picking red book fruits in especially large quantities or for sale, a fine of one million rubles, up to 480 hours of mandatory and up to two years of forced labor is provided.
