Sakhalin's growth strategy is being discussed at the International Far Eastern Energy Forum.

A regional strategy for developing technological, social, and human resources to support oil and gas projects in the Sakhalin Region will be discussed at the International Far Eastern Energy Forum.
It takes place from September 25th to 26th at the Sakhalin Expo site, located within the Pushisty drone port. It is an off-site venue for the Tenth Eastern Economic Forum. The Roscongress Foundation is the operator.
The forum discusses strategies for balancing raw materials exports and deep processing, as well as issues of state support and reorientation of export flows in the context of a multipolar world and sanctions.
"Sakhalin is one of Russia's key oil and gas hubs. Despite the challenging global situation and sanctions pressure, the industry is demonstrating steady growth. We maintained our planned hydrocarbon production and liquefied natural gas production targets. The International Far Eastern Energy Forum has become a platform for developing concrete solutions that will help strengthen the Sakhalin Region's position as Russia's energy outpost in the Asia-Pacific region. This year, our event was granted the status of an off-site venue for the EEF for the first time, demonstrating its high significance in the business world," emphasized Sakhalin Region Governor Valery Limarenko.
The key event of the forum is the plenary session "Far East Energy: Resources, Technologies, and the Future." Topics of discussion include the role of energy in the development of civilization, the development of Sakhalin as the energy capital of the Asia-Pacific region, and the reorientation of export flows given the shifting centers of economic growth in a multipolar world.
"The forum is focused on ensuring Sakhalin's and Russia's strategic leadership in the Asia-Pacific energy sector through the development of infrastructure, innovation, human resources, and sustainable technologies. The region holds a leading position in the industry, making it an important platform for discussing international energy issues amid global challenges and geopolitical changes. I am confident that the forum will help develop solutions aimed at further developing this key sector of the Russian economy and will enable us to establish contacts with partners interested in cooperation," noted Igor Pavlov, First Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of the Eastern Economic Forum.
The business program includes eight thematic sessions. Particular attention is paid to the development of infrastructure and logistics for offshore projects, including port modernization, the creation of multimodal hubs, and ensuring the safety of maritime operations.
Optimal models for regional power supply, the introduction of renewable energy sources, power generation, digitalization of the energy system, and the creation of conditions for the sustainable development of the power industry in Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands are also discussed.
Additionally, experts will discuss international cooperation with partners from the Asia-Pacific region and friendly countries, prospects for attracting investment, human capital development and the digital transformation of the energy sector, the creation of educational clusters, digital technologies to improve efficiency and safety, as well as measures for import substitution and the development of smart fields and cybersecurity in the oil and gas industry.
The forum is attended by representatives of government agencies, businesses, the scientific community, experts, and leading industry specialists. Invited speakers include Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee for the Development of the Far East and Arctic Nikolay Kharitonov, Gazprom Management Committee Member and Department Head Sergey Menshikov, Gazprombank First Vice President Oleg Melnikov, Sakhalin Energy LLC CEO Roman Dashkov, and others.
The program also includes a youth scientific and practical conference. Sakhalin Turbina Service LLC will open a workshop at the Sakhalin Oil and Gas Industrial Park to repair gas turbines and their components, and manufacture specialized heating equipment.
The forum's partners are JSC Engineering Center Kronstadt and Fluid-Line LLC.
