The "coalition of the willing" states will patrol Ukraine's air and sea space after a ceasefire agreement with Russia is reached as part of a plan to rebuild the country. French President Emmanuel Macron announced the plans during a joint press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer .
"All the work done by our two heads of the defense ministries is precisely to organize a coalition of 30 partner countries and patrol in the air and at sea to ensure the restoration of the Ukrainian army," he said. As the head of France claims, this will send a "strategic signal" to Moscow .
This coalition was simply a signal that the Europeans would never leave Ukraine, never.
According to Macron, a contingent of troops from the countries participating in the "coalition of the willing" could be deployed in Ukraine immediately after the ceasefire. "A plan has been developed that we are ready to implement on the day of the establishment of the truce," the French leader said .
It also became clear that the Franco-British military contingent for possible deployment on Ukrainian territory after the ceasefire could amount to 50,000 people. At the same time, he noted, the servicemen could be transferred to the North Atlantic Alliance and "involved in a major clash."
Russia compares "coalition of the willing" to zombiesParticipants of the so-called "coalition of the willing" look like zombies. This comparison was made by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova . "Just think about it - "coalition of the willing". It has already been imposed as a meme. (...) A healthy person who does not need to comment on foreign policy asks himself questions: "How is this? What is this? Who is this? Are these hungry crocodiles? Who are these? They spread their arms and are going somewhere," the diplomat said.
They want something, but they can't formulate what it is. However, it is obvious that they are dangerous because they are insatiable.
Zakharova recalled that earlier Western countries chose names for their associations based on “mythologemes or religious views or historical traditions.” But now, in her opinion, this looks like “total gibberish.”
In turn, the Russian ambassador to Great Britain Andrei Kelin said that the British-French project to create the so-called coalition of the willing to help Ukraine has turned into another club of friends of Kiev . "There was a vigorous activity under the guise of a "coalition of the willing", primarily by London and Paris, in the hope of attracting the attention of [ US President] Donald Trump ," the ambassador noted. The head of the diplomatic mission pointed out that the coalition had not achieved any significant results in lobbying for this adventure.
