It has become known how exactly scammers influence Russians

Telephone scammers give their victims about 40 minutes to apply for a loan at a banking institution, and if after this period of time the victim does not get in touch, the scammers take the initiative and make a repeat call themselves.
RIA Novosti reports this, citing sources in law enforcement agencies who received this information from materials seized during the detention of fraud suspects. According to the existing instructions, telephone scammers notify the misled citizen that they will not be able to maintain communication with him during his stay at the bank branch.
“Therefore, when a person enters the bank, a timer is set for 40 minutes,” the documentation notes.
At the same time, the scammers convince the victim that if he/she is unable to leave the bank and call them back within the established time frame, the fraudster, allegedly in strict accordance with the regulations, will be obliged to independently establish contact with him/her. In addition, they insistently demand that the victim, when answering phone calls at the bank, address the fraudster in a familiar form, using the pronoun "you".
In order to ensure the protection of Russian citizens from illegal actions of fraudsters, a new specialized service called "life situation" was launched on the Internet portal "Gosuslugi". This platform is aimed at both people who have already become victims of fraudulent actions in the virtual space, and at users who seek to improve their level of digital literacy and minimize the risks of interaction with cybercriminals.
The presented service offers a comprehensive approach to protection against fraud, including the functional capabilities already available on the Gosuslugi platform: registration of a self-prohibition on receiving loans, the ability to analyze one's own credit history, control over SIM cards registered in the user's name, obtaining information about suspicious phone numbers, and sending complaints to web resources distributing malicious content. Particular attention is paid to providing detailed instructions describing the procedure for actions in situations where a citizen has inadvertently disclosed his confidential data to fraudsters, as well as other recommendations aimed at preventing falling into traps set by intruders.
Users of the portal, within the framework of the service "life situation", will be able to familiarize themselves with the catalog of the most common fraudulent schemes, which will allow them to promptly receive up-to-date information about emerging threats. In addition, the service provides information about which organizations should be contacted when faced with cybercriminals: in particular, the interactive map displays the addresses and contact details of the nearest multifunctional centers for the provision of state and municipal services (MFC).
