The Social Fund told about benefits for pregnant women: the current amount of payments and how to receive them

"Improving the demographic situation, supporting the birth rate and large families, increasing the well-being of Russian families is our priority national goal," Russian President Vladimir Putin noted in one of his speeches.

One of the important components of the system of payments and benefits is a set of support measures for pregnant women: both employed and unemployed. Read more about the benefits for expectant mothers that are relevant in 2025 in our article.
Maternity benefits for working women
For employed women on maternity leave, the benefit is 100% of average earnings. The duration and specific amount of the payment depend on the situation:
- 140 days (70 before birth + 70 after) from 103,285 rubles to 794,355 rubles - in normal cases;
- 156 days (70 + 86) from RUB 115,089 to RUB 885,139 - in case of complicated childbirth;
- 194 days (84 + 110) from RUB 143,123 to RUB 1,100,750 — for the birth of two or more children.
The benefit is calculated based on the average earnings for two calendar years preceding the year of maternity leave. If in these two years or in one of them the woman was on maternity leave or on child care leave, the corresponding years can be replaced by the previous ones if this leads to an increase in the benefit. To arrange for the replacement of years, you need to write a corresponding application to the employer.
To receive benefits, you will need the following documents:
- electronic certificate of incapacity for work due to pregnancy and childbirth;
- an application for maternity leave, which a woman submits to her employer;
- a decision or a copy of a court decision on the adoption of a child.

Maternity benefits from the Social Fund are also provided for women dismissed due to the liquidation of an enterprise or the termination of an individual entrepreneur. The payment is due to the expectant mother if the dismissal occurred no later than a year before the start of maternity leave and the woman was recognized as unemployed through the employment service. The benefit amount is 100% of the subsistence minimum of the working-age population in the relevant region.
One-time allowance for the wife of a conscript soldier
A one-time payment is also provided by the state for expectant mothers whose spouse is doing military service or is a first-year student at a military educational institution. The pregnancy period must be at least 180 days. The benefit amount from February 1, 2025 is 42,665 rubles. And an application for payment must be submitted within six months after the end of the husband's service.
You can apply for the payment through the public services portal, the MFC or at the SFR client service. It is important to attach a certificate confirming your spouse's military service to the set of documents.
Single benefit for early registration
Pregnant women with a pregnancy term of at least 6 weeks, who registered with a medical organization before the 12th week, can count on a single benefit. It is paid provided that the family income is below the subsistence minimum per capita in the region.
Not only employed or unemployed women, but also female students can become recipients, subject to general conditions. The benefit amount in such cases is 50%, 75% or 100% of the regional subsistence minimum for the working-age population, depending on the level of the family's need.
The application can also be submitted online on the public services portal, at the MFC or the SFR client service. The payment is assigned for the period up to the birth, but not later than the date of its occurrence. It is important to meet the property criteria, permanently reside in Russia and have Russian citizenship.
