USC has delivered the second Kometa for transportation on the Black Sea

Shipbuilders have built two such vessels. One sails the Sochi-Gelendzhik route, the other will be used in the Azov-Black Sea basin

The Vympel shipyard (Rybinsk, Yaroslavl region, part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, USC) has transferred the high-speed passenger hydrofoil vessel Kometa 120M of Project 23160 to the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK). This was reported by the USC press service, Interfax reports.

The Kometa 120M project 23160 is designed for high-speed transportation of up to 120 passengers in the coastal sea zone at a speed of up to 65 kilometers per hour.

As reported by USC, Vympel has built two such vessels. The first, Kosmonavt Pavel Popovich, was launched on the Sochi-Gelendzhik route in early June this year. The second will be operated by the Marine High-Speed ​​Passenger Transportation (MSPP) company in the Azov-Black Sea basin.

The press service noted that the construction was carried out under a contract with GTLK, which was concluded within the framework of the preferential leasing program for water transport with state financing.
