The European Union lacks the capacity to detect unmanned aerial vehicles, according to European Commissioner for Defence and Space Andrius Kubilius, according to the Euractiv portal.
“We need to understand that we do not have sufficient capabilities to detect drones,” the European Commissioner lamented.
Kubilius noted that the EU could improve its drone detection capabilities within a year. However, EU countries need more time to create a "full-scale drone wall," covering both land and sea.
Incidentally, it was previously reported that seven European countries, representatives of Ukraine, and the European Commission are to discuss accelerating the construction of such a "wall." According to their plans, it will be built along the EU's eastern border.
It was previously announced when Ukraine could begin supplying drones to the United States .
