A rig that is unrivaled in its effectiveness, a secret weapon against predators

Today I want to tell you about an interesting and versatile rig that I discovered about a year ago. I found it thanks to the advice of an experienced sports fisherman. Perhaps some of you are already familiar with this method of fishing, but I am sure that there will be those who will hear about it for the first time.
This installation offers a lot of advantages and in certain conditions it proves to be simply irreplaceable.
Advantages:
- Possibility of making ultra-long casts.
- Minimal risk of entanglement and snagging.
- Works with loads of different weights.
- The bait is not loaded as in a drop shot rig.
- You can quickly change the fishing depth without completely disassembling the equipment.
However, there are also some minor disadvantages:
❌ The sensitivity of bites is slightly lower than on a drop shot leash (but better than on a jig). ❌ When playing a large fish, the hook can hit the knot, which increases the risk of breakage. But this problem can be solved - I'll show you how below.
How to assemble the rig?The installation of a sliding dropshot is extremely simple:
- We tie a fluorocarbon leash to the main cord.
- We put a stopper to protect the knot.
- We thread the hook with the bait.
- Add another stopper.
- We attach a weight (olive) to the end.
That's it! The rig is ready.
The sliding dropshot is incredibly mobile:
🔹 The lower stopper allows you to adjust the height of the bait.🔹 The upper stopper can make the installation blind.
🔹 If you add a heavier load, you can increase the casting distance.
I have been using this method for the second year now and I am sure that it will become an excellent tool in the arsenal of any fisherman. Try it – you will not regret it!
