1 police officer was killed and 2 others were injured in the accident

The vehicle carrying the police team on patrol was hit from behind by a truck at the Saadet Street-Okyar Street junction in the Tatlıcak Neighborhood of the central Karatay district.

In the accident, one police officer was martyred and two police officers were injured.

In the statement made on the social media account of the Konya Governorship, the following was noted:

"While our police teams affiliated with the Karatay District Police Department were performing their patrol duty, a traffic accident occurred when a truck hit the back of a squad car at the Saadet Street-Okyar Street intersection in the Tatlıcak Neighborhood of the Karatay district. Unfortunately, one of our police officers in the squad car was martyred at the scene of the accident. 2 of our police officers were injured. After the first intervention of the 112 teams dispatched to the scene, the police officers who were taken to the City Hospital are still receiving treatment. A multi-faceted investigation into the incident is being meticulously carried out. We wish God's mercy on our martyred police officer in this tragic accident, patience and condolences to his grieving family, and a speedy recovery to our injured police officers. May our nation rest in peace."
