Counterfeit alcohol kills 152 people

The Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out 780 operations across the country as part of the fight against the production and trade of counterfeit alcohol.

While 983 people were detained during the operations, 50 of the suspects were arrested and judicial control decisions were issued for 75 of them.

During the searches, 445 thousand 16 litres of counterfeit alcohol were seized.

In addition, counterfeit alcohol has caused the deaths of 152 people since the beginning of the year.
