EXCEPTION FROM SCT FOR DISABLED VEHICLES WILL BE APPLIED TO DOMESTIC VEHICLES
The automotive sector is entering the new year with an important change. The condition of being 'local' has been introduced for the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) exemption applied to disabled vehicles.
According to the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette, a 40 percent local content rate will be required for vehicles that can be purchased with SCT exemption.
In other words, it will no longer be possible to purchase imported vehicles with SCT exemption. In addition, the holding period for vehicles purchased with SCT exemption has been increased from 5 years to 10 years.
