Merve Saatçı Özmen, the daughter of CHP Aydın Provincial Chair Hikmet Saatçı, announced her resignation from her position at the municipality in a post on her social media account.

Merve Saatçi Özmen made the following statement:

I was born and raised under the glorious Republican People's Party (CHP), a party with six arrows and a chimney filled with hope. I inhabited all the ideas inherited from my family's roots. As children, we played in parks and drew with pencils on blank sheets of paper in our party building. We breathed that air, we processed it in our lungs.

It's just today. I respect the political views and circumstances of every segment of society. However, I leave to God those who claim to be in politics for the people but leave their homes with the people's votes.

Of course, not every person is the same, but the truth is unique. The truth is to walk on the path you know, which is always greater than all else.

I am resigning from the Aydın Metropolitan Municipality, where I have worked tirelessly for 13 years. And we will continue to live courage not in words, but in our hearts. As the bearers of a generation with a free mind and a free conscience in our ancestral home, the legacy we will leave to the future is the path blazed by Mustafa, an orphan from Thessaloniki. We were born with the Republic, and we will walk with the Republican People's Party.

It was learned that Özgür Saatçi, who worked at the Aydın Metropolitan Municipality, also resigned from his job at the Metropolitan Municipality for the same reasons as his sister.
