Near disaster in Avcılar! Averted at the last minute

A fire broke out for an as yet unknown reason at a sock workshop in the Yeşilkent neighborhood of Avcılar , Istanbul, around 3:30 a.m. The blaze, which began in the sock production workshop on the ground floor of the four-story building, quickly spread as yarn caught fire.

Following the report, numerous firefighters, paramedics, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The flames quickly engulfed the workshop, partially spreading to the four-story building, and dense smoke engulfed an entire street.

After approximately an hour of firefighting efforts, the flames were brought under control and quelled before they could spread to the building. Crews also cut the power to the power pole directly across from the house as a precaution.

After the fire was brought under control, crews carried out cooling and smoke removal operations. No one was injured in the fire.

Following the intervention, the workshop was completely unusable, and the building it was located in was partially damaged. After the fire was completely extinguished, crews left the scene. An investigation into the fire has been launched.
