Ömer Çelik's reaction to Özgür Özel: It is unacceptable for him to target force commanders

AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made statements regarding the agenda.

Reacting to what Republican People's Party Chairman Özgür Özel said at his party's group meeting, Ömer Çelik said, "Targeting force commanders is unacceptable."

Ömer Çelik said, "Mr. Özgür Özel made statements that directly targeted force commanders with the sentences he used in his group speech. The CHP Chairman mentioning the names and saying 'I am taking note of these' shows that the attitude of creating factionalism and command within the Turkish Armed Forces and thus opening a political path for the CHP continues. In the past, since the CHP could not come to power with the approval of the people, it had two preferred paths. One was to create an environment of chaos within the TAF and to be in favor of military tutelage. The second was to interfere with the judiciary and to create some chaos by creating cadreism and factionalism there. He targets force commanders within the framework of a disciplinary investigation. He supports this by saying 'This is what they told me'. The problem of the CHP not being able to be managed is being tried to be covered up with such speculations. Özgür Özel's words are against political etiquette."

"Anyone who targets state institutions will find us in front of them," said Çelik, adding, "However, states that are hostile to Turkey target force commanders."

INVESTIGATION INTO CHP CONGRESS

"Mr. Özgür Özel should first respond to the shady congress. We want the truth to come to light here. He has been talking about the gift given to our delegates at our last congress. Such gifts are given at the congresses and anniversaries of all parties. We only asked questions. But there are those who directly make allegations, the former CHP chairman, former deputies and mayors."

WHAT DID ÖZGÜR ÖZEL SAY?

Özel, who made evaluations regarding the 5 lieutenants who were sentenced to separation from the Turkish Armed Forces by the decision of the High Disciplinary Board (YDK), claimed that the Chief of Staff of the Land Forces Command, Lieutenant General Tevfik Algan, who was the Chairman of the High Disciplinary Board, put a note on these dismissals.

Özel, who claimed that Algan resigned from his post as a result of the pressure exerted on him, criticized Land Forces Commander General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu and Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu.
