The "Swan Lake" Ballet enchanted the Ephesus Ancient Theatre

The Ephesus Ancient Theatre, where culture and art intertwine with history, once again hosted a captivating opening ceremony. The 8th International Ephesus Opera and Ballet Festival, organized by the State Opera and Ballet General Directorate, opened its curtains with the world-famous ballet "Swan Lake."

The festival's opening night featured internationally renowned dancers Daniil Simkin and Iana Salenko in leading roles. The audience applauded the artists' technical mastery and performance for a long time. Art lovers who showed great interest in the event experienced the elegance of classical ballet in the ancient atmosphere of Ephesus.

The Festival is a Complete Sold-Out. Tickets for all the performances in this year's festival program have sold out days in advance. State Opera and Ballet General Director Tan Sağtürk, speaking after the opening night, said, "We feel like we're in a dream world. We see the same excitement in every city we visit. With a sold-out festival, we're promoting Turkish art not only domestically but also internationally."

The rich program will continue until July 13

Within the scope of the festival, art lovers;

  • On July 2nd, Mozart's "The Abduction from the Seraglio"

  • Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana" on July 5,

  • On July 8, the opera “Aşk-ı Memnu” (adaptation by Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil),

  • On July 11, they will be able to watch Verdi's "La Traviata".

The closing ceremony will be held on July 13th with the energetic ballet "Zorba," set to music by Mikis Theodorakis. The performance will be performed by the Ankara State Opera and Ballet.

Special show for little audiences

The festival didn't forget children, either. The musical children's play "Şekeronya," to be performed on June 29th at the Bornova Culture and Arts Center's Necdet Aydın Stage, will take young audiences on a delightful journey through the colorful and magical world of books.

The International Ephesus Opera and Ballet Festival continues to bring together the magnificent heritage of antiquity and the universal language of art.
