A car burst into flames in the Sabiha Gökçen Airport Tunnel

The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. in the Sabiha Gökçen Airport Tunnel in the Pendik Industrial District. According to reports, a Mitsubishi car with license plate 41 AST 668 caught fire for an as yet unknown reason while driving inside the tunnel. Firefighters and police were dispatched to the scene after other drivers who saw the flames rising alerted them. Crews arrived quickly and brought the blaze under control.

While there were no casualties or injuries, the car was destroyed. The fire caused traffic congestion in the tunnel. Police have launched an investigation.
