Iran's retaliation against the US

Iran's retaliation against the US

Speaking at a meeting attended by foreign country representatives and ambassadors in Tehran, Erakçi drew attention to the attacks by Israel and the US on Iranian nuclear facilities under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

"We regret that the International Atomic Energy Agency and its Director General (Rafael Grossi) did not condemn the attack. The truth is that Iranian facilities were seriously damaged in these attacks, but more importantly, the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and international law and rules were attacked and damaged," Erakçi said, criticizing the IAEA's silence.

Act of Parliament and Cooperation with the IAEA

Erakçi also commented on the law passed by the Iranian Parliament that limits cooperation with the IAEA, stating that despite this legal regulation, cooperation has not been completely severed. Erakçi stated, "Due to recent developments and changes, all of Iran's activities and cooperation with the Agency will be conducted through the Supreme National Security Council, in accordance with Parliamentary laws. The Agency's requests will be reviewed, evaluated, and responded to on a case-by-case basis, in line with Iran's interests."

Erakçi, stating that Iran has no intention of developing nuclear weapons, drew attention to the fatwa of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on this issue, saying, "If we had considered turning to nuclear weapons, we would have taken action earlier, or perhaps we would have the best excuse right now, but our commitment to Islamic principles and beliefs prevents us from embarking on such a path."

We are open to talks with the US, but assurances are a must.

Erakçi stated that Iran is open to resuming nuclear talks with the US , but that appropriate conditions must be met. "Iran emerged victorious from the war with superior resistance," he said. "A victor with a flag held high naturally fears no negotiations. The best time for negotiations is after successfully overcoming a military attack."

The Iranian Minister, who stated that the request for negotiations had been conveyed to the US several times through indirect channels, said, "We have always stated that we are ready to negotiate on our nuclear program and will continue to do so in the future. However, if negotiations resume, it is natural for us to be confident that this process will not lead to war."

Erakçi also reiterated his demand for assurances, saying, "Now, if the US or other countries make a request to restart negotiations, first of all, a serious guarantee must be given that such actions will not be repeated."

"We Will Not Give Up Our Right to Enrich"

Erakçi, emphasizing Iran's fundamental demands regarding its nuclear program, made it clear that his country would not accept any agreement that does not recognize its right to enrich uranium . "I must clearly emphasize that in any dialogue process, the rights of the Iranian people regarding nuclear matters, including their right to enrichment, must be fully respected," he said. "We will not accept any agreement that does not recognize the right to enrichment."

Erakçi also stated that the negotiations would focus solely on the peaceful nature of the nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions in exchange. He emphasized that Iran's missile program and defense capabilities would not be subject to negotiation.
