July 15 martyrs commemorated in Arnavutköy

The Arnavutköy Municipality organized a commemoration program on the 9th anniversary of the treacherous July 15th coup attempt. The event included a march. The program was attended by Arnavutköy District Governor Mahmut Hersanlıoğlu, Arnavutköy Mayor Mustafa Candaroğlu, veterans of July 15th, relatives of martyrs, representatives of the district's political parties, and numerous citizens.
The program, which began with a concert by the Janissary Band, continued with speeches and various performances reinforcing national sentiment. Plaques and flowers were presented to the athletes who pedaled from Arnavutköy to Niğde to the grave of martyr Ömer Halisdemir. As part of the program, artist Arslanbek Sultanbekov took the stage to perform his beloved songs. Sultanbekov's performance was met with great interest from the public.
At the concerts, citizens waved Turkish flags and sang along with the marches. Footage from the night of July 15th was shown on a giant screen set up in the square, and prayers were offered for the martyrs.
Speakers highlighted the importance of such events to pass on the spirit of national unity and solidarity of July 15 to future generations.
