Kağıthane Municipality's 2026 Fiscal Year Budget and Performance Program were approved by the council.

Kağıthane Municipality's 2026 Fiscal Year Performance Program and 2026 Fiscal Budget were approved by majority vote following discussions at the Municipal Council. The 2026 budget was set at 6 billion 917 million 920 thousand TL. Since Mayor Mevlüt Öztekin took office, the budget realization rate has reached 90 percent. In his speech during the 2026 Fiscal Year Performance Program and Budget discussions at the Municipal Council, Kağıthane Mayor Mevlüt Öztekin evaluated the new term goals and projects implemented in the district.
In his speech, Mayor Öztekin said, "We've increased Kağıthane's surface area from 16 square kilometers to 20 square kilometers, adding 4 kilometers of new forest to our district. We've established our Disaster Affairs Directorate and are forming our accredited search and rescue team. As part of urban transformation, we've completed 17,600 independent units to date, providing our citizens with safe housing. By implementing the 53 projects we promised when we took office, we've built not only promises but also trust. Over time, we've better understood the needs and increased the number of projects to nearly 150. Our squares, parks, walking and cycling paths, public coffee houses, science centers, centers for the disabled and elderly, and rehabilitation facilities for stray animals have become the new living centers of our district. We've preserved our history with the restorations of the Sadabad Palace Walls and Kağıthane Mansion, while transforming our district into a lush green living center with projects like the Green Valley Bicycle and Walking Path and the Hamidiye Public Garden. We've planted 50,000 new trees in the last six years. Skillful Hands We serve citizens of all ages with our Bazaar, Day Service Centers, Employment Center, Space Center, kindergartens, and youth centers. We've strengthened our educational infrastructure with eight new schools and one vocational high school. We've renovated 764,000 square meters of roads and laid 110 kilometers of fiber infrastructure. Kağıthane is now a city that respects nature, is technologically compatible, and is sustainable. As one of Istanbul's most debt-free municipalities, we're closing this year with a balanced budget. In Kağıthane, we've built not just buildings today, but also trust, neighborhood, and a culture of living. We will continue to work together for a Kağıthane that is more beautiful than yesterday and more hopeful for tomorrow.
