Following Yeni Şafak newspaper's headline the day before, which responded to Bahçeli without naming him, Türkgün newspaper, known for its close ties to the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), targeted Yeni Şafak yesterday. The newspaper's headline read, "Yeni Şafak tried to strike a blow against a 'terror-free Turkey' and was disgraced with the archives! What's your problem?"

The following statements were used in the report signed by Tolga Polat: "The 'terror-free Turkey' process, which has been turned into a state project with the support of President Erdoğan, has entered a new phase. The Yeni Şafak newspaper took action to undermine Devlet Bahçeli's proposal that the commission established in the Turkish Grand National Assembly go to İmralı . The newspaper tried to undermine the process with a report based on the research of a polling firm.

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli said that the deputies elected from the "National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission" established in the Turkish Grand National Assembly should go to İmralı so that "the necessary messages can be received firsthand," and that this would strengthen the process.

The article, which claimed that Yeni Şafak had recently made radical changes to its editorial policy, read, "Yeni Şafak continues to add fuel to the pot. The newspaper has repeatedly criticized the AK Party's economic policies in its news reports, repeatedly openly criticizing Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek over interest rates in the newspaper's main headline. The newspaper interpreted the persistently high inflation despite high interest rates as a mismatch between interest rate policy and expected results. Mehmet Şimşek, however, stated in a meeting, "Those criticizing either don't hear us or they have bad intentions."

Şimşek noted that the “disinflation path” published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) was very clear and that implementations were progressing within this framework.
