Everyone is happy with the uniform

The regulation amendment, which was made following the frequent demands for a ‘school uniform implementation’ by Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin at the ‘Teachers’ Room Meetings’ he initiated after taking office and during his meetings with teachers in the provinces he visited, was published in the Official Gazette on December 6, 2024, and entered into force. According to information obtained from the Ministry, in this context, a monitoring and evaluation study was conducted with teachers and parents regarding the feedback on the practice from the field regarding the dress code implementation in schools. Separate survey forms were prepared for parents and teachers, and 32,945 teachers and 407,207 parents participated in the study. In the survey conducted among teachers, 52.7 percent of whom were primary school teachers, 47 percent were middle school teachers, and 0.3 percent were boarding regional middle school teachers, 94 percent of the participants evaluated the change in school uniform implementation as ‘positive’. 94.6% of teachers expressed satisfaction with the school uniform policy, while 92.2% stated that it contributed to maintaining discipline within the school. In the parent survey, 81% of participants evaluated the change in school uniform policy as "positive," and 85.5% expressed satisfaction with the policy. 79.7% of participants stated that the school uniform was comfortable and practical for their children, and 78.7% stated that it supported their children's freedom of movement and daily school activities.
