Hunting areas and species have been determined for the 2025-26 period

The decisions of the Central Hunting Commission of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for the 2025-2026 period were published in the Official Gazette and entered into force. Accordingly, hunting areas, species, hunting periods and limits were determined by taking into account regional differences that occur due to climate in the biological development of wild animals. Quail and turtle dove hunting will start on August 23 in the Aegean, Eastern Mediterranean, Western Mediterranean, Marmara, Central Anatolia, Eastern Anatolia, Southeastern Anatolia, Eastern Black Sea and Western Black Sea regions. In the same regions (except for some provinces), sand partridge, chukar partridge and freckle partridge hunting will be able to be done between October 25, 2025 and January 18, 2026. In the said regions, hunting for white-fronted goose, white-fronted oriole, mallard, greylag duck, deer wigeon, teal, red-legged duck, tufted pochard, pintail, pochard, garter snake, snipe, rock pigeon, woodcock, blackbird, song thrush, shovelbill and woodcock will start on October 18 and end on March 1, 2026. Hunting for jay, jackdaw, rook, carrion crow, cormorant and magpie will start on August 23 and continue until March 1, 2026. Hare and fox hunting can be done between October 25, 2025 and January 18, 2026, and wild boar and jackal hunting can be done between August 23, 2025 and February 15, 2026. A hunter cannot hunt more than 10 quails, blue jays, more than 3 turtle doves, black grouse, song thrushes, white-fronted cormorants and cormorants, more than 4 white-fronted orioles, more than 6 rock pigeons, common woodcocks, more than 5 woodcocks, more than 15 magpies and more than 1 snipe in a day.

During the mentioned periods, hunting will be allowed on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and official holidays (including administrative holidays). Hunting of wild boar, quail, turtle dove, white-fronted turtle dove, mallard, greylag duck, wigeon, teal, red-legged duck, tufted duck, pintail, shoveler, pochard, garter, snipe, rock pigeon, common woodcock, blackbird, song thrush and woodcock will also be possible on Tuesdays.
