If you are a traveler with a passion for nature and discovery, Taşeli Plateau awaits you! This karst area, witnessing the flow of the Göksu River between Antalya and Mersin provinces, fascinates with its natural beauties and dazzles with its unique ecosystem. However, not only nature but also history and biodiversity await you here!
Where is Taşeli Plateau?
Taşeli Plateau is a fascinating plateau formed around the Göksu River, located between Antalya and Mersin provinces. This legendary beauty area is full of rich vegetation and natural wonders. Its height varies from 1300 meters to 2100 meters from east to west, taking you to a completely different world with every step. The highest point is Bahadır Hill! But we recommend you to climb this peak, because the view from there is absolutely magnificent!
Mysterious Karst Formations:
One of the most striking features of the Taşeli Plateau is its karst structure. This region, which consists of limestone and dolomite, is famous for the thousands of dolines formed by the melting limestone. These are known among the public as 'kepir', 'koyak' or 'kokurdan'. Some of these dolines have sinkholes where water enters the underground, deepening over time. In this area, you can even find the Peynirlikönü Sinkhole, which is the 12th deepest cave in the world and holds the title of the deepest cave in Turkey. With a depth of 1429 meters, it is a truly impressive natural formation!
Plant and Animal Wealth:
Taşeli Plateau is home to endemic plant and animal species! Plants such as Asphodeline sertachae, Eryngium isauricum and Scorzonera longiana, which are only found in this area, grow here. In addition, the rare Pamphylian lizard (Lacerta pamphylica) is one of the important reptile species of this region. This plant and animal diversity makes Taşeli Plateau a unique area in terms of biodiversity.
Start Exploring:
Surrounded by high mountains and where water seeps underground, Taşeli Plateau is a region with a very low human population. Offering a peaceful atmosphere with its natural beauties, this area remains far from densely populated areas in high karst regions. It is a great discovery route for adventurers who are only willing to touch the natural beauty of the east. Here you can meet the highland life and traditional life, and meet with the local people. It will also be interesting to see the agricultural and animal husbandry activities carried out around the Anamur River.
Conservation Efforts and the Future:
The protection of this natural wonder is an important issue. There is currently no official protection work on the Taşeli Plateau, but local governments and environmental associations are carrying out some work to protect the region. Considering the natural structure and biodiversity of the plateau, it is expected that future protection work will add even more importance to this area.
Conclusion: Are You Ready to Explore?
Taseli Plateau, where natural beauties, unique vegetation and wonderful biodiversity come together, is truly a place worth seeing. If you are looking for an adventure in nature, this is the place for you. Taseli Plateau, which is a natural paradise with its karst structures, underground waters and endemic species, is like a treasure waiting to be discovered! 🌿
Get ready, nature is waiting for you!

- If you are planning a nature trip, camping or outdoor activity, be sure to pack all the necessary equipment .
