GOOD MORNING
Maybe Tomorrow Will Be Better….
Mersin Erdemli İmirzeli Ruins..
The current village settlement was established on the north and south slopes. The archaeological site consists of two large slopes and a hollow section. The columns of a peristyle house on the north slope are still in place. Above this is a two-storey Early Byzantine house. On the wide door lintel of this house, there is a cross in the middle and a peacock motif on both sides. Again, this house A little further on, there is a tower built by Olbali priests, which is very damaged in its current state and dates back to the Hellenistic Period. The phallos symbol is seen on the south wall of the tower. The southern slope of the settlement was used for the construction of churches. There are three churches built one after the other here. Since the names of the churches cannot be understood due to the lack of inscriptions regarding their construction, these churches are numbered. The narthex and part of the apse of the first church in the west (Church No. 1) have survived to the present day. The church in the east (Church No. 3) has been completely destroyed. When compared to these, it is seen that the church in the middle (Church No. 2) has survived to the present day better.
Again, all three of the churches here have a basilica plan, three naves, and the middle naves end with a semicircular apse in the east. There are symmetrically arranged side rooms located to the north and south of the bema where the apse is located. The material used in the churches is regular small cut stone. These churches are generally dated to the beginning of the 5th and 6th centuries. In the section between the two slopes, there is a large pit right below the middle church. Although this large pit is shown as a sacred area from the Roman Period (Hellenistic), the large columns and bases around it suggest that it could have been a cistern. Again, in this pit section, the frames of the entrance doors of the houses have survived. There are two small necropolis areas from the Roman Period on the southern slope. There are also architectural remains and rock tombs in the valley surrounding the west and north of the site.

IMPORTANT WARNINGS: SAFETY IN NATURE SPORTS AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
If you are interested in nature sports and enjoy outdoor activities, it is vital that you are careful about safety . Nature sports can be enjoyed and enjoyed safely when the right precautions are taken.
It is in your hands to enjoy nature while protecting your personal safety and the environment. Remember, nature sports are exciting but also require serious responsibilities . Be sure to read our article on Dangers You May Encounter in Nature Sports and the Precautions You Should Take .
Here's what you need to know before starting nature sports:
- Prioritize Safety: Although outdoor sports are adrenaline-filled and exciting, they also carry serious dangers . No article or video can replace proper practical training and personal experience . Therefore, before participating in outdoor activities, be sure to get theoretical and, if possible, practical training and gain experience.
- Dangers of Nature Sports: Nature sports carry risks even for experienced athletes. Mountaineering, camping, hiking and other outdoor activities can lead to accidents that can cause death or serious injuries . A licensed athlete with many years of experience lost his life in an accident during a simple nature walk. Mountaineering already carries serious dangers and despite all precautions, accidents that cause death or serious injuries can always occur . Even on the easiest nature walks, it is common to sprain your ankle or get bitten/sting by an animal such as a wild bee, scorpion or snake . Therefore, always be prepared and take the necessary precautions. An experienced mountaineer friend of ours died in an accident that occurred due to carelessness on the easiest nature walk. An athlete who has been trekking for many years was separated from the group on Mount Ararat and froze to death . An experienced mountain climber who has been climbing mountains for years lost his life in Aladağlar as a result of an accident . 10 people got lost while trekking in Şahindere Canyon in Altınoluk and were rescued by the Gendarmerie.
