Ramadan excitement in Eyüp Sultan Mosque: Mahya hung

The Ottoman tradition of the mahya, which adorns mosques during the month of Ramadan , "the sultan of eleven months", took its place in the Eyüp Sultan Mosque . "Sultan of eleven months" Mahyas, an Ottoman tradition that adorns mosques during Ramadan, are taking their place in mosques in Istanbul . Mahyas were prepared by Turkey's last mahya master Kahraman Yıldız and his team, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the General Directorate of Foundations . The mahya was placed between the two minarets of the mosque, accompanied by a unique view of the Golden Horn. Mahyas were hung in the Eyüp Sultan Mosque, where many citizens pray every day, days before the start of the month of Ramadan. The mahya hung in the mosque bore the words "Welcome Ramadan-ı Şerif" .
