Princess Anne is reportedly annoyed with her nephew, Prince William, over one thing. The Princess Royal will be turning 75 next month, but she has no plans to step back from her royal duties.

Anne does not wish to mark her birthday with any birthday celebrations this year, but she did, however, host a reception for the charities she has supported throughout her royal career ahead of it last month. The princess, who has continuously been crowned the hardest-working royal in recent years, has already had a busy year, with various trips abroad and countless engagements in the country.

But there is one type of engagement she wishes her nephew would help her with more, according to a new report.

The Sunday Times said that the princess is very "fond" of the heir to the throne and will continue to support him as King in the future, if she is still working following his ascension to the throne.

But several sources claimed that she would like him to engage more in "bread-and-butter" royal duties than he does currently, namely the various investitures at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.

Only King Charles, Prince William and Princess Anne do investitures, many of which take place at Windsor Castle, where the Waleses' home, Adelaide Cottage, is.

A source close to Anne told the outlet: "She’s still doing most of the investitures [at Windsor] even though William lives there. It annoys her."

The Prince of Wales has previously opened up on his own approach to the future of the monarchy, during a trip to Cape Town last year.

He said: "I’m trying to do it differently and I’m trying to do it for my generation … I’m doing it with maybe a smaller ‘r’ in the royal, if you like.

"So it’s more about impact, philanthropy, collaboration, convening and helping people. I’m also going to throw empathy in there as well because I really care about what I do.

"It helps impact people’s lives, and I think we could do with some more empathetic leadership around the world."
