Princess Anne set to miss Royal Ascot for key reason after carriage fail

Princess Anne is set to miss Royal Ascot today for one key reason. The Princess Royal, 74, did attend the first day of the event yesterday along with other members of the Royal Family including the King and Queen Camilla.
However, she will not be present at the prestigious event today as she instead has another important engagement to attend. According to the Royal Diary, the King’s sister will instead visit the Lincolnshire Show on the occasion of its 140th anniversary today at Lincolnshire Showground.
She is believed to be the only royal set to appear at this event.

This royal engagement comes after Anne appeared to be in great spirits at Royal Ascot yesterday, even after a slight malfunction with her carriage.
While the carriage seemed all well during the official royal procession to kick off Royal Ascot 2025, the journey up to this point was not smooth.
This is because while travelling through Cheapside village in Berkshire, Anne’s carriage, which she shared with The Duke of Wellington, The Duchess of Wellington and Mrs Annabel Elliot - Queen Camilla's sister - seemed to have an issue when the reins fell off.
This was quickly resolved by royal aides, with the problem not repeating itself again.
Paul Arora, who was enjoying the procession in his village, exclusively told Express.co.uk yesterday: “It was a quintessential English scene where the King and members of the Royal Family made their way through a small village this morning for the start of Royal Ascot. Many of the locals turned out to show their support and were blessed by the wonderful weather.
“However, the royals were not so blessed as one of the carriages had a horse break its reins. We noted it had caused a delay for a few minutes, and royal aides rushed to help fix the problem, which they appeared to do so very efficiently.
“Shortly after, the procession continued and all was well. After the mishap occurred, my friends were discussing the incident - it made quite the talking point!"
It is likely Anne will attend Royal Ascot again later this week.
