A tiny European micronation with just a population of 63 has its own currency and located on a beautiful river. The Free Republic of Liberland is a small territory that is located on the banks of the Danube River between Croatia and Serbia.

It is a constitutional republic with elements of direct democracy that allows direct engagement of citizens. Not recognised by any country, it has since become an example of a micronation. Liberland is only 7 sq km (2.5 sq miles) of uninhabited marshland. However, in the mind of Vit Jedlicka, its first president, it's the fulfilment of the libertarian dream - a land with no compulsory taxes, no gun control, and Bitcoin.

Jedlička drew inspiration from classical liberal philosophers like Ludwig von Mises and Ayn Rand, envisioning a political framework rooted in laissez-faire capitalism, limited governance, and a cryptocurrency-based economy.

The official language is English and the national currency is the Liberland dollar.

The Constitution, founded on classical liberal principles, establishes an efficient and straightforward governance model.

According to its official website, visitors from around the world are welcome to explore this extraordinary hub of creativity and freedom. Whether you are curious about the Liberland initiative or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, ARK Village offers an inspiring experience surrounded by nature.
