UK weather maps show nine cities set for searing 30C heatwave on Monday - full list

Brits are likely to bask in glorious sunshine on Monday Bank Holiday with the temperature levels soaring to 30C, the weather maps have suggested. The sweltering "heatwave like" condition comes after the country has already experienced four heatwaves this summer so far this year, with the Met Office indicating that it was already on track to be among the country's hottest on record.
The latest weather maps from WXCHarts, which are prepared using the MetDesk data, show several areas of the country will see the high temperatures of 30C and some of the cities will experience 28C and 29C on Monday, August 25. According to the maps, the south-west of England is expected to experience the most significant effects of the hot weather.
Greg Dewhurst, meteorologist with the Met Office said: “On Monday morning, there will be a sunnier start for many of us, although some mist and fog may appear first thing. This should clear quickly, leading to a lovely day with blue skies across much of the country. Cloud will come and go at times, especially in western parts of the UK—particularly Northern Ireland—as a weather front approaches. This front will bring some rain later in the evening, and winds will begin to pick up in those areas.
“Despite that, there will still be plenty of sunshine, and with winds coming from the south—a warm direction—temperatures will rise again. Highs of 27C, 28C, and possibly even 29C are expected, with mid-20s likely across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland too.
“Into the evening, the weather front will continue pushing in from the west, bringing outbreaks of rain across Northern Ireland and eventually into western fringes of the UK.”
