Joel Dommett's wife had strict rule for ITV Masked Singer bosses in show first

Joel Dommett’s wife Hannah has lifted the lid on the strict rule she issued to ITV bosses after terrifying new addition to The Masked Singer. At the beginning of the year, the masked talent show returned with a bang for another star-studded series, and it featured its usual host of elaborate costumes. But one character struck home for the TV host after dazzling viewers on stage with their impressive vocal range.
Loyal fans will recall that one of the cheeky characters attempting to fool the judges was a ‘Giant Joel’. The character was dressed in a patterned neon pink suit complete with a gold shirt and tie and an elaborate two-foot-tall head of the host grinning.
Throughout the series, the elaborate character even paid a visit to Joel’s family home where he teased viewers about his real identity behind the mask while sharing a cup of tea with his wife and child.
It was later revealed that Olympian Sir Mo Farah was hiding under the mask, who gave one final performance of Lionel Richie’s Hello before he took off the mask.
Now, in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk following the launch of her new jewellry collection with Posh Totty Designs, Hannah admitted that she was terrified of the mask when she first saw it in person.
She told us: “I was freaked out by it and the similarity of it was striking, it was so scary to be honest. I thought, ‘Oh my God, this is not a good idea. Wilde will get PTSD from this Disney character of Joel’ but he loved it! I mean I could borderline say he probably loved it more than Joel."
The mum-of-one went on to share her concerns about the huge face and the issues she could face with it in the future. Hannah added: "I am equally aware that it exists now.
“That head is in a storage facility somewhere and I know Joel being Joel, it’s gonna come out at some point. Whether he hires it from the company for Halloween or whether he’s got a prank in mind.”
The model went on to reveal that she forced ITV bosses to make her one promise before going through with the elaborate costume. She revealed: “I mean I said to the production team, ‘Please don’t allow Joel to buy it because I don’t want that in our house. I really don’t’.
“And they did make me that promise so hopefully it’ll be a little while until I see it again.” The blonde bombshell then joked that the enormous costume would do well to serve as a temporary Joel when the comedian is on tour across the country.
She quipped: “It might work well when Joel’s on tour actually, I should probably get it our so I can tell Wilde, ‘No, Dada is home, he’s here’. The jewelry collection is inspired by Hanna’s journey into motherhood and even named the collection after her first-born son.
Speaking about the collaboration, she gushed: “It feels so surreal, I’m really glad that I called him a name that is quite cool and unique. Hopefully he thinks the same when he starts school, because I think it would have been different if I just called him Jack and the Jack collection wouldn’t have hit the same.
"It’s quite fun that my mother head and my work head cross over quite nicely and I do think that with jewelry, it’s nice to have a piece that marks a time in your life and I feel like I’ve got a collection now that marks this year of my life and that feels really special.”
Meanwhile Posh Totty Designed founder and creative director Alice Rivers-Cripps also spoke about working with Hannah, as she gushed: "From the moment I met Hannah (pregnant with little Wilde at the time!) at a party, we clicked.
"Together, we’ve created a collection full of charm, meaning, and a little Wild West flair — lucky horseshoes, buckle-inspired designs and symbolic charms.
"At the heart of it all is our guiding star — a little reminder to follow your own path, passion, and that spark of magic that’s uniquely yours."
The full collection is available at Posh Totty Designs’ boutique stores in London and Brighton, online, and at select pop-up locations.
