Lamine Yamal Got Gifted a $400,000 Chain for His 18th Birthday

Lamine Yamal Got Gifted a $400,000 Chain for His 18th Birthday

Soccer star Lamine Yamal is starting his 18th birthday celebrations early with a lavish piece of jewelry courtesy of Dominican dembow singer El Alfa.

In honor of Yamal's 18th birthday, which falls on Sunday, July 13 this year, El Alfa took to Instagram to share that he had gotten the player a custom chain, valued at $400,000. The piece, a diamond-encrusted gold chain with blue and red precious stone accents to honor F.C. Barcelona's iconic “blaugrana” colors, was made by NYC-based jeweler Victor Rodriguez of Tajia Diamonds. The central pendant features Lamine Yamal's initials — LY — intercrossed in a monogram style.

“The best piece for the best soccer player in the world,” El Alfa wrote, in Spanish, in the post's caption. “Congratulations, legends.” Yamal showed appreciation for the gift, leaving a comment under El Alfa's post with a slew of fire emojis.

It appears that Yamal has yet to receive the piece, as on July 9, just a day after El Alfa unveiled it, he was in Shanghai with Adidas for the 2024-2025 China High School Football League National Finals.

That said, the star has been making the most of his time off following a remarkable season with Barcelona. The team achieved a domestic treble this year, winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Supercopa de España. In fact, for the first time, Barcelona achieved a double domestic treble, with the women's team also achieving the same feat.

Aside from his duties with Barcelona, Yamal has also been busy with the Spanish national team. After rising to the top during the 2024 UEFA European Football Championship (best known as Euro 2024), the team also participated in the UEFA Nations League 2025 in June, securing the second spot after losing the final to Portugal in a penalty shootout.

Before F.C. Barcelona makes its La Liga return on August 16, 2025, Yamal will head to Japan and South Korea later in late July and early August for pre-season friendlies with Vissel Kobe, F.C. Seoul, and Daegu F.C., so that leaves the next couple of weeks to receive and flaunt the chain off the field. Happy birthday, Lamine Yamal!
