Linda! Natasha! Alek! Steven Meisel Captures 50 of Fashion’s Finest for the Zara 50th Anniversary Campaign

You might not even need reminding that the partnership between Steven Meisel and Zara has been a match made in absolute fashion heaven. Season after season, campaign after campaign, we have been in constant awe since 2017. In 2023, Zara and the legendary American lensman even teamed up for an exclusive collaboration, and the accompanying campaign featured the absolute who’s who of the modeling world. Therefore, it is no surprise to see Marta Ortega Pérez enlist Steven Meisel for the Zara 50th anniversary campaign. To commemorate five decades since the first Zara store in A Coruña, Spain in 1975, Meisel captures 50 of fashion’s finest for the 50th anniversary campaign – resulting in a stark black and white portrait of the women.
Those names include: Abbey Lee, Adriana Lima, Alek Wek, Amar Akway, Amber Valletta, Amelia Gray, Awar Odhiang, Candice Swanepoel, Carla Bruni, Caroline Trentini, Carolyn Murphy, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Doutzen Kroes, Edie Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Fei Fei Sun, Georgia Palmer, He Cong, Imaan Hammam, Irina Shayk, Iselin Steiro, Joan Smalls, Julia Nobis, Karen Elson, Karlie Kloss, Lexi Boling, Lina Zhang, Linda Evangelista, Liya Kebede, Lulu Tenney, Mariacarla Boscono, Marisa Berenson, Maty Fall, Meghan Collison, Mona Tougaard, Naomi Campbell, Natasha Poly, Paloma Elsesser, Paulina Porizkova, Penelope Tree, Precious Lee, Rianne van Rompaey, Rosalieke Fuchs, Sascha Rajasalu, Sasha Pivovarova, Sora Choi, Twiggy, Vittoria Ceretti, and Yasmin Warsame.

“Such large group photographs have no impact on me. It is way too much to look at all at once. I much prefer individual fashion shots,” MModa voiced.
“Casting is great but the result is the same as Edward Enninful’s farewell British Vogue cover. Boring AF,” critiqued thiago.
Also not exactly jumping for joy was fashionsavvvvy. “Damn, a HUGE letdown,” they declared.
“Steven Meisel’s work has meant everything to me for decades, but I feel like I’ve seen this type of model group shot enough times before, to not be moved by the sight of it in 2025,” tigerrouge chimed in.
In complete agreement was svpernova: “I’m pretty disappointed by this. They have some of the most prominent models of all time, and they decide to use a group shot?”
“Predictable casting,” noted Gonzalo.
“As expected. Lots of fillers. No Top girls like Vodianova or Bündchen?” asked MagFan.
