Melania Trump’s Bold Off-The-Shoulder Yellow Gown Turns Heads at Royal State Banquet

Melania Trump recently attended the royal state banquet hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla in a bold yellow gown. While everyone looked best in their attire, it was the First Lady’s statement dress that made heads turn on Wednesday. She was accompanying her husband, US President Donald Trump, at the gala affair. This marks their second official visit to the U.K. The couple last visited in 2019 as guests of Queen Elizabeth II. At the time, Melania wore a Burberry trench coat.
Melania Trump’s off-shoulder yellow gown at the state banquet hosted by the royal family at Windsor Castle is grabbing headlines. The First Lady wore the strapless long-sleeved dress, designed by Carolina Herrera, with a statement lavender belt that featured a large rectangular buckle.

To complete her bold look, the 55-year-old paired her floor-length high slit gown with pointy Manolo Blahnik pumps. In terms of accessories, Melania sparkled in dangling diamond-and-aquamarine earrings. Moreover, she opted for light make-up and kept her hair down to accentuate her dress. Meanwhile, President Trump, 79, dressed for the evening’s event in a formal tuxedo with a white shirt.
While talking about the outfit with the BBC, celebrity stylist Marian Kwei said that Melania’s “strapless gown is a little on the daring side.” However, this is not the only time when the First Lady has worn a striking ensemble. Even during her arrival at the royal residence, the former model grabbed everyone’s attention with her wide-brimmed purple hat.
She paired her headgear that hid her eyes and face with a classic dark grey suit by Christian Dior. And Kwei believes her wide hat “is pointing to a stance where she wants all eyes on her husband and his agenda while here.” At the banquet, Melania and President Trump dined with Prince William, Kate Middleton, King Charles III, and Queen Camilla. The couple is expected to return on Friday, September 19.
