Mikey Madison Gazes Down the Lens of Steven Meisel on the Cover of Vogue Italia’s September 2025 Issue

Steven Meisel shooting for Vogue Italia will always and forever give us a cause for celebration. After all, the legendary lensman has bestowed upon us a wealth of wonderful imagery via the pages of the Italian fashion bible – including the revolutionary black issue from 2008. Francesca Ragazzi, who has served as head of editorial content since 2021, grants us a Meisel-shot cover with the release of the September 2025 issue. Mikey Madison becomes a Vogue Italia cover girl in the process, starring on the latest offering from the magazine. In the portrait cover shot, the American Oscar-winning actress is dressed by stylist Karl Templer in a total look from Christian Dior.

“It’s awful. His worst Vogue Italia cover,” declared Avonlea.

“This is so lazy,” an underwhelmed swizzi critiqued.

“I wish this was a joke. This is so awful I almost have to laugh,” voiced RMDV.

Also far from impressed was pradn. “The Steven Meisel grey backdrop strikes again! I don’t care if it’s his so-called signature. Or just a lazy excuse for no imagination? Either way… ’m officially DONE!” they announced.

“It’s atrocious. Absolutely nothing works here. I think Miley Madison is very beautiful, but Meisel can’t see it. She looks like a botoxed Fran Drescher on that cover. So basic, so forgettable,” noted mepps.
