Netflix fans are only just realising 'binge-worthy' crime drama is now streaming

Netflix aficionados have stumbled upon a gem of a crime drama, Collateral, which first graced screens in 2018.
The four-part miniseries, initially broadcast on BBC Two, has found a new lease of life on Netflix, captivating a fresh audience with its gripping narrative.
At the heart of Collateral is Carey Mulligan, who shines as Detective Inspector Kip Glaspie, delving into a murder mystery that spirals into a complex web of deceit. Kip's investigation into the killing of a pizza delivery man in London unravels a conspiracy entwined with the British military, leading to a series of unexpected revelations.
Set against the backdrop of London, Collateral boasts a stellar cast including John Simm, Billie Piper, and Ben Miles. Despite critical acclaim and an award nod for Piper, the show initially didn't catch the widespread attention it deserved.
Now streaming on Netflix, the series is experiencing a resurgence, with Reddit users singing its praises and lauding Mulligan's compelling portrayal, reports Surrey Live.
One Reddit enthusiast recommended the show, saying: "Another binge-worth British short murder mystery. Carey Mulligan at her best and all the crews!" Another chimed in: "I really liked her performance. I would definitely watch multiple seasons with that character."
A third viewer shared their satisfaction: "This was pretty good. Wife and I binged it and walked away happy," while yet another echoed the sentiment: "I really enjoyed this one. Carey Mulligan is so good in this."
The plot summary reveals: "When a pizza delivery driver is shot down in South London, Detective Inspector Kip Glaspie takes the reins of the investigation, refusing to dismiss the murder as a mere random act of violence. As she delves deeper, she finds herself entangled in the murky underbelly of London.
"Simultaneously, politician David Mars gets caught up in the unfolding drama due to his tumultuous relationship with his unpredictable ex, Karen, while a vicar grapples with hiding her affair with the sole witness to the crime. The investigation causes these disparate worlds to collide and intertwine."
During the filming of Collateral, actress Carey was pregnant, and she has previously lauded writer David Hare and director SJ Clarkson for not overly focusing on her pregnancy within her character's narrative.
In a Q&A session at the time, she shared: "Being pregnant had to become part of the story, and what I loved about it was that there was no, 'oh goodness me' or 'Oh he/she/ just kicked'. No pregnant acting was allowed, and no crying, which was a revelation. So she doesn't cry. She's a working woman, who's working through her pregnancy."
