The 3 Best Smart Scales You Can Buy

- Simple LED display
- Generally accurate weight, body fat, and heart rate detection
- Connects to Apple Health and Google Fit
- User-friendly app
- Metrics aren't as exhaustive as Hume or eufy
This is the common sense pick. It is, first and foremost, a digital scale that will display your weight on a small LED screen when you step on it. If that's all you need, you're all set for $40 and you can kinda just treat it like a scale.
If you desire more details, open up the Wyze app on your phone and everything will be right there. Better yet, it can sync up with your Apple Health app, already built into your phone. This smart scale makes it easy to incorporate more accurate metrics into your daily routines, even if you already wear an Apple or Pixel Watch.

The name Body Pod kinda says it all. This isn't just a smart scale, it is designed to be the center of your new fitness journey. Hume's biggest selling point for its scale is that it can help you set a a goal, and then help you achieve it. Using its personalized coaching, Hume app will track your progress, make suggestions, and ask questions. The seemingly endless number of rave reviews and testimonials all point to this being what sets the Body Pod apart from the pack.
Of all the multi-hundred dollar smart scales, this is the one with the best reviews across the board from users and the press, along with endorsements from medical professionals. For those who aren't getting a scale to hit a goal weight, you still get what you pay for. It takes tremendously accurate readings, and if you have one of the big three smartphones (Pixel, Galaxy, iPhone) it will sync with your baked-in health app. That's as smart as it gets.

- Unlimited user profiles
- Modes for babies and pets
- Tracks 16 metrics
- Wi-Fi capabilities for quicker syncing
- Less consistently accurate than the other two
- Requires frequent battery changes
While other scales only allow eight user profiles, the eufy is perfect for the whole family—or dorm. You can make as many profiles as you want, and the scale even has modes that lets you safely measure babies and pets—most scales freak out at the sight of either. Oh, and it's Wi-Fi enabled, which helps more than you think with making the whole user experience between phone and scale very seamless.
The app is pretty good. How much you love it will depend on how much you like staring at a semi-accurate 3D of your own body. It's not my favorite part, but there's also a full body report which shows you the metrics in my preferred numerical form.
A common complaint about this one is that, over time, it requires more frequent battery replacements than competitors. It also has more users noting inconsistencies in accuracy compared to others.

In our research, these were the three most important categories.
Accuracy: You want a scale that works. When it comes to smart scales, this includes ones that accurately read all the metrics they claim they do. A few inconsistencies here and there and a user will begin to distrust the product. Soon, they won't be using it at all. Get the picture?
User Experience: Speaking of the user experience, the digital app side has to be pretty seamless too. We know you want to be able to step on the scale, get your readings done, and then pull out your phone to check the nitty, gritty metrics. Anything that puts a delay in that process is a black mark against any smart scale.
Third Party App Compatibility: Making sure your scale's metrics can feed into whichever health tracking app you use is critical. All three of these scales are compatible with Apple Health and Google Fit, but only the Hume can connect to Samsung Health.
