Top 6 Netflix shows this coming week revealed – No1. will leave you horrified

One Netflix release promises a gripping finale

Netflix is bursting with top shows this week - but Squid Game's third and final season has to be top of your must-view list. It follows the grief-stricken and desperate efforts of Gi-hun (Lee Jung-Jae) to end a sick and twisted survival game that saw his best friend lose his life.

It all began with cash-strapped players accepting an invitation that had "deadly high stakes" - and going on to sorely regret it. Gi-hun since attempted to halt play but ended up being mocked for his efforts, as he realised things had gone too far to reverse. We now know that the sinister Front Man (played by Lee Byung-hun) had disguised his true identity so that he could infiltrate the game, and things are becoming increasingly tense.

It comes to Netflix on June 27, with the website teasing: "The surviving players’ choices will lead to graver consequences with each round. Can we hope for humanity in the cruelest of realities? The world eagerly awaits the grand finale."

It's much grittier than last week's K-Pop Demon Hunters, where superstars use their "secret powers" to protect fans from "supernatural threats".

For those who want more of a real-life theme to their dramas, Trainwreck: Poop Cruise (June 24) tells the nauseating real-life story of a cruise ship's engine fire leaving 4,000 passengers stranded at sea - and, infamously, without plumbing.

It might have happened in 2013, but 12 years on, people are still shuddering with horror at the utter chaos that ensued.

Meanwhile, The Ultimatum: Queer Love is screening its second season from June 25 onwards.

The website teases: "Six couples put their love to the test by moving in with other partners. Are they ready for marriage — or is 'the one' actually someone else?"

Elsewhere, Steph Tolev returns on June 24 to "rule the stage" with her show Filth Queen, featuring candidly honest "unfiltered dating stories", while The Intern sees a fashion entrepreneur getting a "surprise boost" from a 70-year-old widower applying to become a senior intern.

Finally, June 27 will also see the return of Pokémon Horizons: Season 2: The Search for Laqua, where "adventurers Liko, Roy, and Dot embark on a new quest to learn more about Lucius and track down the rest of the Six Heroes".
