Yvette Cooper skewered on LBC as she refuses to answer easy question 5 times

Donald Trump's involvement in negotiating peace between Israel and Hamas sparked discussions on whether he deserved to win a Nobel Peace Prize. As the winner was announced this morning (October 10), topics relating to the possibility of him landing the prize were discussed on various shows, including Nick Ferrari's show on LBC.

As Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper joined him to discuss policy, he took the opportunity to ask her if she believed Donald Trump deserved the Nobel Peace Prize. Avoiding the question, she said: "Well obviously that is an independent process that I can’t cut across but nobody should be in any doubt of the significance of this moment."

Nick interjected and said: "But you will have a view?"

She added: "We would not have got here without the US peace initiative, without the work President Trump has done, a lot of countries have been involved in this."

At this point, Ferrari appeared to get frustrated with Cooper and said: "Let's try this another way. Would you support Donald Trump getting the Nobel Peace Prize?"

She told the host that she is supporting the work of the US President, but repeated once again that it's an independent process.

Cooper fumed: "Why can't you say yes or no, Yvette Cooper?" But at that point she also appeared to grow frustrated with the host.

Cooper then fumed: "No Nick. I'm not going to cut across the process because I think we are about to have it making its announcements today," so he told her that her comments wouldn't be able to influence it.

Once again, she stood firmly and said: "No. I do strongly support the peace role President Trump is playing and I don't think anyone could play that role right now," but she refused to make any additional comments.

Ultimately, Trump did not win the award, despite him sharing his interest in getting the title, instead the committee awarded the prize to Venezuelan opposition leader and politician Maria Corchado.

The committee said it had awarded Corchado the prize "for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy".
