Politics LIVE: Nigel Farage to make huge announcement at press conference today
Nigel Farage is holding one of his regular press conferences in Westminster later morning. He will be joined at the event by Zia Yusuf who recently left and rejoined the party following a row over whether the Burka should be banned in the UK.
Reform are continuing to soar ahead of their rivals with Ipsos’ first voting intention poll since the general election showed the party on 34% to Labour’s 25%. The Tories languish on 15%, the lowest the pollster has ever recorded for them.
Reports at the weekend suggested that new Reform-linked think tank has vowed to hand Mr Farage the keys to power by raising more than £25 million from British and American donors.
The Centre for a Better Britain (CBB) will plough the funds into the development of "radical" policy and draft legislation, polling, and the selection and training of parliamentary candidates.
The think tank has launched an operation in the United States in an attempt to draw inspiration - and millions of dollars - from the populist Maga movement, which twice propelled Donald Trump to the White House.
