Battlefield 6: Can I play war on the console while it's raging outside?

The first-person shooter "Battlefield 6" unfolds a dystopian scenario that seems frighteningly realistic. What does this tell us about militarization, youth pacifism, and conscription?

"Battlefield 6" costs €69.99 – but how high is the moral price? Ryan Evans for Berliner Zeitung am Wochenende

It's March 2028. NATO has collapsed. Twelve of the former allies have joined a mercenary army, the "Pax Armata." War is raging. And I'm in the middle of it. As part of the NATO offensive on Gibraltar, controlled by the "Pax Armata." We're approaching the land in floating tanks, creating a D-Day feeling. Similarly, I've already been assured by high-ranking officials that my deployment will "secure peace," and so I sit behind the gun: Whenever I see enemy fortifications, infantry entrenched in trenches, or enemy vehicles, I fire. The lines of the rap trio KIZ echo in my head: "Yes, I'm sitting in the tank, yes, I'm rolling low / Blaka, blaka, blaka goes the artillery," I hum to myself as I clear the beach of enemies.
