Jussi Adler-Olsen: New crime novel by bestselling author to be released on October 1

Copenhagen. Bestselling author Jussi Adler-Olsen ("Desecration," "Betrayed") didn't find it difficult to hand over the work on the continuation of his successful crime series to two co-authors. "No, not at all. I'm relieved," said the Danish author, who is suffering from bone marrow cancer, in an interview with the German Press Agency in Scandinavia ahead of his 75th birthday.
"They can just write, and I'll analyze, criticize, and comment. I don't write a single line," said Adler-Olsen about collaborating with his crime fiction colleagues Line Holm and Stine Bolther.
Their first joint work about the investigators in the Copenhagen Police's Special Unit Q will be released in German stores on October 1st under the title "Dead Souls Don't Sing." They also began work on the twelfth case this spring, as Adler-Olsen reported.
The Dane is also able to let go during his own writing process. Writing a novel is hard work, and the best part is being able to stand up and turn away from the keyboard, he said. He personally only thinks about the story when he's sitting at his desk. "It's quite easy for me to just stand up – and then it's gone."
