Eosinophilic esophagitis: Double dose PPI appears to be more effective
Proton pump inhibitors alone only lead to clinical and histological remission in approximately half of all cases of eosinophilic esophagitis, according to a meta-analysis. Individual studies suggest that a double induction dose, administered twice daily, may be more effective than the standard dose.
