After 4 weeks, Natalie (34) marries Turkish holiday sweetheart - they communicate via online service

While on vacation in Bodrum, an American woman falls in love with a Turkish security guard in a cocktail bar. Four weeks later, the two marry. Neither speaks the other's language.
American Natalie B. (34) met security guard Muhammet (26) in a cocktail bar while on vacation in the Turkish resort of Bodrum . Since she didn't speak Turkish and he had little English, they could only communicate via Google Translate. Despite the language barrier, the two fell in love and decided to marry after four weeks.
The wedding took place with a simple ceremony costing 75 pounds (approximately 86 euros), just before Natalie's visa expired. "Looking back, it all feels like a whirlwind—crazy and magical at the same time," Natalie told the British Sun. She's originally from Seattle. "We had no idea how it would turn out, but sometimes love just doesn't wait for the perfect timing or perfect plans."
Natalie and Muhammet are now happily married and live together in Bodrum. The couple is trying to grow their TikTok account, and Muhammet wants to become a model.
"It was a leap into the unknown," says Natalie, "but I'm so glad we took it. I don't regret anything, I'm just happy."
Carol, a Brit, also fell in love on vacation, but her romance came to a sad end. In October 2014, she met the charming tour guide Atef in Egypt. Back in Manchester, she couldn't forget him, divorced her husband, and traveled back to Cairo to marry him. "I knew immediately that love at first sight really does exist," Carol recalled to the Daily Mail. But soon after, she learned that Atef was already married to an Australian named Isla. Despite the broken trust, Carol initially stayed with Atef.
In May 2023, another deception was revealed when a woman named Rania came forward claiming to be Atef's wife. Atef eventually confessed that he had been married to multiple women. Carol's hopes for a future together were finally dashed. She returned to the UK – without a partner and without financial security, but with the clear decision to leave the relationship behind for good.
