Angela Aguilar will not be sued by Adele for plagiarism, confirms Gussy Lau

Angela Aguilar , 21, will not be sued for plagiarizing Adele, according to her ex, Gussy Lau.
It was in mid-February of this 2025 that this rumor began to circulate on networks and different media.
Which indicated an alleged lawsuit by Adele for the song 'Qué Agonía', by Ángela Aguilar.
Well, the song would sound identical to 'Rolling in the Deep', one of Adele's most popular songs.
But now Gussy Lau - aged 36 - has come out to deny the scandal.

Entertainment journalist Javier Ceriani was the one who took on the task of speaking with Gussy Lau regarding the alleged lawsuit.
Through his YouTube show, he showed screenshots of the conversation he had with Ángela Aguilar's ex.
Well, it is worth clarifying that Gussy Lau is one of the composers who created the song 'Qué agonía'.
And although Gussy Lau did not deny the similarity between the two songs , he did not consider it to be a cause for a lawsuit.
This is because 'Qué agonía' "does not meet the necessary criteria" to be considered plagiarism of 'Rolling in the Deep'.

It was during his conversation with Javier Ceriani that Gussy Lau promised to investigate further on the matter.
As the song's composer, he had not received any kind of notice of a lawsuit from Adele.
So Gussy Lau asked the Society of Authors and Composers of Mexico (SACM) directly if this demand existed.
SACM itself informed her that there was no legal process by Adele against Ángela Aguilar or the rest of the composers.
The rumor that earned the young singer new criticism was thus denied.
