Despite the high temperatures, everything indicates that the heat will become less stifling starting Thursday. However, the Aemet (Mexico City Meteorological Agency) has emphasized that, although there will be a "thermal respite" from the heat wave over the next few hours, significant rainfall will be recorded. In fact, some regions are already facing rain and storm warnings heading into Wednesday.
The Aemet (Mexico Meteorological Agency) has confirmed that the approach of a high-level trough, along with a front, will influence the weather, especially in the northern part of the peninsula. This will result in overcast skies and light rainfall , which could persist locally in the northern third.

In addition, heavy cloud cover is expected throughout the day, generating showers and thunderstorms likely in the northern half of the country. These showers are likely to be heavy in areas such as the Iberian Mountains, the Cantabrian Mountains, the Northern Plateau, the Central System, the Pyrenees, and the Sierra Nevada, as well as in areas near these regions.
In fact, the expected storms have led several regions to activate a yellow alert . Heavy rains are expected, with accumulations of up to 20 liters per square meter per hour, in areas such as the Iberian Peninsula of Burgos, Soria, and La Rioja, as well as in parts of Barcelona, Girona, and inland Castellón. Heavy rainfall is also expected in Teruel , accompanied by storms that could include hail and very strong winds in various parts of the country.

The Spanish Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has indicated that a general drop in temperatures is expected, although the heat will remain intense in the center and south of the peninsula.
