Video: Moments before and after the attack on Charlie Kirk, the activist who was shot at a US university.

Moments before the attack that rocked the Utah Valley University (UVU) campus and ultimately led to his death, activist Charlie Kirk was casually interacting with the public.

In videos posted on social media, he was seen throwing promotional caps to students attending the event as part of his “American Comeback Tour,” while joking and answering questions during an open house.

The initially relaxed atmosphere abruptly changed around 12:10 p.m. local time when a gunshot rang out in the auditorium. According to witnesses, Kirk backed away, visibly shaken, clutching his neck, which was visible with blood, while the audience panicked.

Emergency evacuation and suspension of classes

Later, another video shows the chaos that followed the shooting: shouts, running for the exits, and security personnel evacuating attendees. University authorities confirmed that all classes were suspended and the campus closed while emergency protocols were implemented.

An elderly man was arrested at the scene as the alleged perpetrator of the attack. Local police, in coordination with the FBI, continue their investigation, although the motive for the attack has not been confirmed. Kirk was escorted from the premises by his security team and his death was confirmed hours later.
