Violent videos show citizens raiding the ministers' residences and setting fire to them. The Finance Minister was dragged by protesters in the street and chased through a river. Meanwhile, the other ministers who were in Parliament were evacuated by helicopter to avoid the risk of the attack.

Digital censorship and political crisis

The conflict arose after the Supreme Court ordered all digital platforms, whether domestic or foreign, to register officially. Faced with the refusal of 26 applications, including Facebook, WhatsApp , X, and YouTube, the government blocked the platforms .

The mass protests left dozens dead and led to fires in Parliament. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and several ministers, including Foreign Affairs, Interior, Agriculture, and Water Supply, resigned following the attacks and social pressure.

The most serious tragedy occurred with the death of Rajyalaxmi Chitrakar, wife of former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, after suffering burns when her home was set on fire, according to hospital sources confirmed to EFE.
