A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck Iran's central Semnan region on Friday , with no reports of damage or casualties so far.
The quake struck around 9:30 p.m. local time (6:00 p.m. GMT) in the center of the country and was felt in the cities of Qom and Tehran, Press TV reported.
Iran is highly seismic, with numerous earthquakes recorded. The most serious to date occurred in December 2003 and June 1990, when 31,000 and 37,000 people died, respectively.
In November 2017, a magnitude 7.3 earthquake killed 620 people and injured more than 12,000 in the northwestern province of Kermanshah.
