Kreg Harrison exhibits his bullfighting sculptures in Seville during the San Miguel Fair.

The halls of the emblematic Gran Meliá Colón Hotel in Seville hosted the opening of the new exhibition by renowned American artist and sculptor Kreg Harrison on the evening of Tuesday, September 23.

The presentation ceremony featured speeches by Francisco Ipiña and cattle rancher Rafael Peralt , who emphasized the cultural relevance of this exhibition on the occasion of the San Miguel Fair.

During the opening, Harrison shared with the audience his approach to the world of bullfighting and explained the creative process behind his project, following two years of work touring different ranches and bullrings.

The exhibition brings together more than twenty bronze sculptures inspired by founding castes, scenes of bullfighters and rejoneadores (bullfighters on horseback), depicting different moments of bullfighting, modeled in real time. Among the bronzes are representations of the Miura, Concha y Sierra, Partido de Resina, and Santiago Domecq ranches; rejoneadores such as Diego Ventura and the late Rafael Peralta; and among the bullfighters, Roca Rey and Manuel Escribano. The matador from Gerena is the central focus of the exhibition, with five bronzes that recall his afternoon with the Victorino bulls in Seville.

The exhibition will be open to the public at the Hotel Colón until next Sunday, September 28.
