Claudia Sheinbaum rules out meeting with Israel Vallarta and explains the reparation process.

President Claudia Sheinbaum ruled out any plans to meet with Israel Vallarta, who was acquitted after nearly 20 years in prison without a sentence, and clarified that he has not requested any meeting.
He explained that to receive compensation for the damages, Vallarta must begin the formal process established in the General Victims Law, which includes not only financial compensation but also official recognition and apology.
In response to questions, Sheinbaum asserted that the journalist protection program has an allocated budget and is not subject to restrictions on expanding it if necessary.
Regarding possible adjustments, he indicated that they would be reviewed with the Ministry of the Interior and that dialogue is open to strengthen support for journalists at risk.
